Valley of Dry Bones ^

The Valley of Dry Bones [Ezekiel 37]

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’”

Dry bones (spiritually dead) + Breath of Life from God --> Spiritually alive

The Cost of Following Jesus [Matthew 8:18-22]

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

• Those who follow Jesus: Physically & spiritually alive

• The dead: Physically alive but spiritually dead

• Their own dead: Physically dead

Passover with Flesh & Blood of the Lamb 🐏 [Exodus 12]

Jesus our Passover lamb ^

In Moses' era, God's chosen people (the Israelites) were fleeing from Egypt. The sacrificial lamb they killed and ate during that Passover symbolizes Jesus the Passover lamb.

v1-3: The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.

v5: The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect

[John 1:29] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

[1 Cor 5:7] For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

v46: “It must be eaten inside the house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones.

[John 19:36] These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”

v11: This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

[Gen 19:24-26] Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back when she fled Sodom and Gomorrah

[Matt 24:15-18] “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.

v7: Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

[Psalm 141:3] Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Shincheonji Class Notes Passover and Flee to Mount Zion

In today's era, God's chosen people (the Christians) have to flee from the "sea" where satan is to go to God's "holy mountain". We are fleeing from spiritual death to spiritual life and need to have the spiritual flesh & blood of the lamb [word of testimony] on our doorposts [lips].

John 5:24-25

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

2 outcomes:

1. Listen & believe in Jesus' words --> Rise to life / resurrected

2. Do not listen and/or do not believe in Jesus' words --> Dead, rise to be condemned
